''HP/De Tijd'' is published by Audax Publishing. The company bought the magazine in 1994 from publisher HPU, VNU and MeesPierson bank.〔 The headquarters of the magazine is in Amsterdam.〔 The magazine is conventionally considered to be one of the four most influential written media in its sector, along with ''De Groene Amsterdammer'', ''Vrij Nederland'' and ''Elsevier''.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.government.nl/issues/media-and-broadcasting/journalism-and-the-press )〕 In the early 2000s ''HP/De Tijd'' was known for its right-wing discourse (often featuring right-wing luminaries such as Pim Fortuyn), but nowadays the opinions in the magazine lean more to the left.
